A new session of NAMI Basics, our class for parents, will be starting up in September. Here’s what to know.
What: NAMI Basics is a free, 15-hour educational program for parents and caregivers of children with behavioral and emotional disorders. These include: ADD/ADHD, Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and others.
When: Each Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, beginning September 18, 2018 and ending October 23, 2018.
Knowing the facts.
Finding help and resources.
Feeling understood and validated.
Developing better parenting and communication skills with your child or adolescent.
Learning to work with the systems involved with your child and the importance of record keeping.
Becoming an advocate for your child.
Learning the value of self-care.
